Literacy 2017 T2 W5

This week for literacy we have done our word work activity but this week we had to do silly sentences which was fun.

  • Machinery
Meaning- The parts of a machine, collectively
Sentences- I used a bulldozer to pick up the green apple  
Origin- First recorded in 1680-90

  • Deceitful
Meaning- given to deceiving
Sentences- The girl felt deceitful asking Mrs Prendergast about for information about a purple and orange giraffe.
Origin- Late Middle English  

  • Disappearance
Meaning- the act or an instance of disappearing; a ceasing to be seen or to exist.
Sentences-The disappearance of the tiny flying elephant was very disappointing
Origin- First recorded in 1705-15

  • Luxury
Meaning-  Something very posh!
Sentences- The dog was driving a luxury limo with frog passengers
Origin- Middle English, Latin

 Ceremony
Meaning- The formal activities conducted on some important state occasion
Sentences- I went to the wedding ceremony where a cat and a mouse got married
Origin- Middle

    These are some funny word work sentences espically the first one when the bulldozer picks up the green apple it made me giggly! I like the way you have set out your word work! But maybe next week you could make all the colours the same because that takes my attention away from the word work! He whetu koe! (Your a star!)

    I like how all you're sentences are very funny! Next time make sure that you don't put years on the origin bar because origin means where it comes from. I also really like how you have added in colours to make it bright and colourful. Did you enjoy doing this activity?
