BFG

This is my third activity I have done we had to draw what we think the BFG looks like for us and write a description about him here is mine.

Interview

Here is my second activity I had to interview 3 people and ask what they are most proud of or who they are most proud of

Addison - Is proud of her maths because she has been improving a lot lately
and has even gotten into cantamaths   

Maddi - Is proud of her sports because she’s been getting better every year
and improving on things she needs to she also is proud that she gets into
west coast teams for her sports she plays and also grey district for school
teams

Rylan - Is proud of her brother Landon because he gives things ago and
never gives up she is also proud because he has just started school and has
fit in and make friends and is doing really well in his reading   

Similes

The last two weeks of school we have a range of actives we have to do. one of the activities is to make 4 similes her are my 4.

Today we learned about 

Maslow created this model of human need in 1943. he argued that their are different levels of human needs starting with the mat basic at the bottom. here are examples for each level.

Hero

For the past couple of weeks we have been learning about hero's and what we think a hero's is. At the start most of our class said hero's  were out of movies one's and were ones with super powers but we had to really think about it. We all stared to realise what a hero actually was it was someone who is kind and lifts people up when they are down. So this week we had to make a hero and and we had to say 5 sentences about what our hero is here is mine.

Film Review

This week we had to find a film of this site we had to pick our favourite one and do a review on it here is what I think about the film I watched

The film is about a robber who has just robbed Westpac bank and stolen more than 2 million dollars as well as 30,000 dollars lost from property damage. The two best detectives are on the case. They are saying lock your doors hug your family.This film tells the story of the detectives on the chase.  Will they catch the robber?

The angles and lighting were really good. The shots taken had awesome backgrounds. Every shot had great humour in it. 

The sound was amazing. The characters spoke really clearly and the background music suited the scene. It was amazing and a really good volume. It was impressive 

The scenery was really good especially how it was sunny.  It was a good idea to go outside and use already made places. The costumes suited the characters really well and they had  awesome props to tell the story. 

They did a really good job with the slow motion effect. Also the news interviews were really great the length was really good for the film as there was constant action so it did not get boring at any parts. It was an amazing film  

Persuasive Writing

This week we are going over persuasive writing because we
have a test coming up.

Our first activity was to get with a partner and we had to roll
a dice which then we got a topic which we had to do. My topic
was: Is it cruel to keep animals in zoos? This was a good topic
for me and Rylan because we both agreed that it was cruel.
It was a fun topic to do.

Is it cruel to keep animals in zoos?

A zoo is a place where animals are in a contained  environment
that is visited by people. Animals are often in a completely
different country and separated from their families and put
in a zoo nowhere near there home country. 

We strongly agree that it’s cruel for animals to be kept in
zoos for these following reasons. 

Firstly we believe it is cruel because animals are often kept in
enclosures that are nothing compared to their natural habitat
for example sharks and dolphins fins are being bent because
there enclosures are too small and contained. Also lions can
run for days but in a zoo they would feel trapped in such a
small enclosure. 

Secondly, we believe it is cruel because some people choose to
be annoying and disturb the animals. Banging on their cages
just for a photo. We believe animals shouldn't be controlled
just for photos because the zookeeper's sometimes harm them
to sit still for a photo

Thirdly we believe it is cruel for people to take animals from
there families to be put in a zoo. Some animals get taken when
they are babies and they need their parents. Imagine you
being taken from you family and get put into a random place
with no one. How would you feel?

We strongly believe that it's cruel for animals to be kept in
zoos because their enclosures are not like their natural
habitats, they are mistreated by visitors to zoos and animals
are separated from their families. We want zoos to be changed
for the safety and protection of all animals.

Earthquake Drill

This week on Thursday we had to do a earthquake and tsunami drill for safety reasons to teach us and mostly the younger kids what to do. We first go a phone call saying there had been an earthquake which we all had to get under desks, we stayed there for about 1 min. Then we got another call saying there was a tsunami which we needed to evacuate the buildings. The school had to evacuate and run up a hill which was the closest to our school. 

I think it is good to practice to know what to do if it did happen. Do you have a plan? 

Current event quiz

The Amazon Forest Fires 
In Brazil the Largest forest in the world the Amazon forest is burning. Animals are losing their homes and they can't escape from the fire. The Animals have to leave their eggs so their chicks survive. The Amazon forest produces more than 20 percent of our Oxygen. It is also believed that three million different species of reptiles, mammals and plants live in the Amazon forest. Some mammals may be able to escape such as jaguars but sloths are most likely too slow to escape.
 

Spanish

This term we have been learning about Spanish speaking and where spainsh is spoken around the world we had to pick a country where people speak Spanish me and Rylan have chosen

In our class we have been working on getting along treating others how you want to be treated and being nice to one another  I think what we have been doing is making our class room a more fun and welcoming place to be in.

Speech

This term we had to do speeches mine was on my holiday around Fiji here it is.  

Reading

This week we have been reading a text about stoats and what we think of them in this task we had 6 different thinking hats that we had to put our ideas. Some of the hats were and some weren't

Pest Invasion: Stoats

This week for reading my group has been reading an opinion text about stoats as pests. One of our tasks was to put the different opinions in the text on a continuum.  We also had to interview 2 people in the class. We had to put the opinions in order from who strongly disagrees or strongly agrees to in between.



I have also made a form for you to fill out so I can get others opinions on this topic.    
     

Spanish map

This term we are learning new languages one of our  languages is Spanish. Our first task was to make a map of where people speak Spanish in the world here are mine.

Statistics

Today in maths we were learning how to make a graph using google spreadsheets. My graph is about what I have been blogging about this year. You can really tell that I blog a lot about literacy and I've only just started blogging about Blog x.

  We also did a graph on What tools I've used to make my DLO's.  It tells me that My Favourite tool to use is Writing (DOC) And I don't normally make videos.
