This term we have been reading a book which we have fished. as we have been reading We had to do 2 actives Every chapter I found it a little bit hard to keep up but I eventually got there. here are some of my actives. 

 

What's Been in the News this Week...

Sonny Bill Williams will be attending the Friday prayers in Christchurch to support the Muslim community after the horror that happened last Friday. He says the he thinks "it's important to show a united front and get to the mosque and show that us as Muslims we know that we're valued New Zealanders". 

I think it is really kind of Sonny Bill Williams to attend the mosque. 

Brunner Mine Site Trip

Yesterday we went to the Brunner Mine Site to learn about the explosion on the 26 of March 1896. I really enjoyed It because we got to explore the cemetery and we also did some acting like miming and saying some poems. 

I learnt lots about what they used like tools and ways they got the coal out. Something interesting I found out the day of the explosion they tried to force the ponies in the mine but the ponies could smell something so they would kick and bite the men.  The men got sacks to put over the ponies face and forced them in the mine. They were killed in the explosion.                                                               

I really enjoyed this trip and am looking forward to learning more about this site in class.

This week One of our tasks are to take a photo up close so people can guess what it is this task was fun because we could choose anything to take a photo of and it was cool to see other people photos in the class

Brunner mine

We  have just stared to read about the brunner mine because we are going next Monday and we wanted to learn a bit about it first.
