Literacy Reflection W8 T4

This week for literacy we got to choose what type of writing we wanted. I chose to do a news broadcast with Ella and Kaede. 


Kaede: Welcome to EK News…
Katelin: It’s Christmas Eve In the North Pole and Santa is very busy, for all the kids that have been good. Do you think you have been good kids? Santa and his elves have put in a very good Effort for making all the presents for the good kids. I hope everyone is excited for christmas, because I am, here Santa is now. Hi santa have you been busy making all of the presents?
Ella Hohoho yes I have been busy. I can tell you I’ve got a lot of goods on my list there's gonna be a lot of happy kids in this world.
Katelin: Well You must be proud of your elfs for doing all of that hard work.
Ella : Hoho yes I am very proud of my elves because they help me alot and sometimes I don’t even have to do anything.
Katelin: Alright santa I’ll pass you on to Kaede with some more news.
Katelin : Well, Santa it looks like you have to go and fly some presents down to New Zealand before the kids wake up in the morning.
 Katelin : Well it looks like I do. See you kids in a couple of hours wait you won't see me you will be sleep won't you?? Katelin : Wow it looks like you should go now kids you better get in your beds all tucked up before Santa comes.
 Ella: Bye Kids.
Kaede: That's all we have for now from santa but kids when you wake up in the morning i’m sure you will see, lots of presents under your tree!!! Kaede: To catch more news watch EK news tomorrow night.

Literacy- This week for literacy we have been doing Christmas writing I I done a Christmas tree with my own words to 12 day of Christmas. I also did a naughty or nice list and I wrote why I should be on the nice list. Here is my work.

Naughty or Nice

I think that I should be on the nice list because I never really get told of at

school and I have never had a warning at school and I do lots of jobs for my mum.

1. Why I think I should be on the nice list I have never really get told of at school because I am always on task and I listen all of the time and I am always getting my work done.

 

2. Second reason why I think I should be on the nice list I have never had a warning at school because I have never done anything bad and i'm always doing the right thing and always on task.

3. Third reason why I think I should be on the nice list I do lots of jobs for my mum and when she needs help I do help her.

Conclusion. They were my three reasons why I deserve to be on the nice list.

For my reading Task I had to do a abcya Word cloud we had a choice I picked The BFG Because I really like the BFG Here is my work. 

 Also we done a recount on the earthquake here is mine.

I was fast asleep wow not really because then my bed was shaking like crazy I heard my mum say

“Kids its an earthquake,” so we all jumped in my bed because I was  glued to my bed. I could not move I was so scared because the earthquake would not stop. I blocked my ears I don't know why, though I thought that I was floating.  It was a really windy night and I was swinging side to side and backwards and forwards. Then it stopped and I jumped into my Mum’s bed and then I felt a big aftershock but then I slowly went to sleep and I hope that never happens again.

Big day out Reflection T3 W8

Yesterday we had big day out. we went to the movies the recreation center also the swimming pool in that order.

First we went to the movies and we watched  Pete's dragon. To be honest it was sad because I cried but it was a great movie I loved the movies it was really fun.      

Second we went to the recreation center we played lots of games my favorite  game was badminton and basket ball because I was really good at badminton. 

last of all we went the pool and we had some food to eat and have a play on the playground and had a bog swim and we were aloud to go on the hyroslide.

For maths we have been learning about fractions we had two activity to do they were both quite changeling because i'm not the best at fractions.

For topic we have had to do pick a machine that is in your house I did a toaster this was hard because we were not aloud to research any thing so you had to no quite a bit.       

How a toaster works

A toaster is something made out of hot wire medal you cook your toast in the toaster to make it yummy and crunchy.  All you do is push the pedal down to cook your toast.

A toaster is use for toast and sometimes different stuff first you get the bread and put it in the toaster and pull the pedal and you wait for about 3 minutes. And then it pops out and you have a yummy and crunchy piece of toast.

Button

You can push down a button to make your toast to come out earlier and it will pop out.  

A toaster looks like some sort of square it has a plug.And they come in different colors.  

Electric parts

When you look inside of a toaster when it's on you can see orange lines in the sides. Which is used to make the toast hot and brown that's how you make your toast.

Did you know that if you put metal ect in a toaster when it is turned on at the wall because you will get electrocuted?

Also for topic we are learning about how to be an explorer we had to do 5 reasons of what we thought was a explorer.

Reason 1: Because Maybe they want to explore the world and find out interesting things about different places.

Reason 2: They would probably want to find out about new cultures and things that don’t happen in your country.

Reason 3: Because they want to see different animals and explore what animals eat and what their prey is.

Reason 4: Because they might want to find out about insects and things that live in the woods         

Reason 5: They might want to just have fun and explore everything and find out interesting things!
